It’s very early. Well, not very early but early enough were I can definitely say that I shouldn’t be awake right now. Nope, should not be awake. But alas, I couldn’t fall asleep because I was too busy writing an obscenely long Facebook note last night. But you know how these things are, you start and it’s just so much fun you just can’t stop! And then by the time I finished it was 6. And today I’ve got an Improv officer meeting at noon and then tonight I’m seeing Tropic Thunder with Tom, Jen, and Zoe.

In other words, I should have slept. Aw well. Thanks for reading.

I’d like to take this brief oppurtunity to talk about a brand new website that I’m absolutely in love with: yourYipp.com

yourYipp is an awesome place to share your photos, drawing, doodles, poems, prose, and stories with a small (but growing!) community. It’s got a gorgeous design and is brand spankin’ new. (It opened at midnight last night!)

Spreeder.com: This is soooo cool. What this is is a little web app that lets you throw some text at it, and then it spits it back at you one word at a time, at a speed you dictate. What’s amazing is that you can set it to extremely high speeds. I set it to 600 words per minute, and what’s amazing is that I can still read and comprehend it. My brain really surprised me. It’s not nearly as comfortable as a speed like 200 or 300 words per minute, but it’s still possible to get the gist of a block of text at 600 WPM. It’s really rad. Check it out. You might be surprised.

That’s right, it’s time for the first OTJR!!! For the first ever OTJR featured song, I’d like to introduce you to one of my favorite songs by my favorite band ever, the White Stripes.

Now, this isn’t a song you’ll find on any of their albums, since it’s a b-side. The song is called Lafayette Blues, and it’s a nice, raw-sounding garage rock jam. It features Jack White basically listing off all of the French street-names in the city of Detroit, set to some kickin’ guitar and some nice drum-pounding by Meg White, the band’s drummer.

Since this is a b-side, you can’t buy it on iTunes. But you can listen to it in its entirety for free above, and if you’d like you can even download it and enjoy it for yourself on the go from here. (You need to have a Pownce account to download it, but it’s free and quick and easy and awesome.) Have fun, and happy jammin!
